interdisciplinary project with Björn Bernt (product designer)------------------------------------------------------- Rosenthal Design Award- Young Designers meet Rosenthal 2007/ 2008: honorary mention and presentation within the travelling exhibition (Start: Ambiente Frankfurt 13-17th February 2009) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great-grandmother's tea set and granny's hobby merge into one, daddy's old socks find a new purpose: a loving portrait of an absurd family, cast with senselessness and sensuality. Structural remnants and rudimental artefacts melt into haptic ornaments of a family tradition, beautifully absurd and absurdly beautiful. Crochet structures once soft to touch are now solidified, capturing moments, a clichéd version of a cliché. Touch and explore these family members and the traditions they represent, musingly and tongue in cheek.
