Clockwork Orange

Since the campaign season has just begun, it’s difficult to say that I already have a favorite – but the new Bottega Veneta campaign breaks that barrier in more ways than one. Emma Maclaren told me that this was an absolutely “amazing nightshoot,” and since I’m left breathless whenever I see the campaign in publication, I can only imagine what the actual shooting experience was like. The wonderful lighting provide the apparel with just the right

The ancient frieze inspiration is nearly undeniable for this campaign (Though it is far more evident in the larger group shots), and Steven Meisel ‘s renewed concept provides the Prada spring collection with a graceful, celestial quality that wasn’t apparent in the dark, sinister, and absolutely nerve-wrecking ambiance of the runway show (I’m looking at you, Katie Fogarty and Yulia Kharlapanova). The first thing I did after seeing this ad was to make sure I had read the brand’s name correctly — After all, a two-page spread and modified font for a Pollini ad? Let’s switch gears to some menswear ads, shall we?

Is there anything more desired in menswear than a Giorgio Armani suit? Season after season, the clothes continue to be at every businessman’s wishlist, and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott ’s campaigns for the brand continue to reflect that insurmountable sophistication. If it were any other brand, such an monotonous color palette may not have much appeal, but the impeccable style shown through mere

Two campaigns, two top models, two photographers — what can be better?

There is just something about Anja Rubik that draws me in — and ever since her haircut she has been even more captivating. However, she is also a model who knows how to sell merchandise. The position Anja maintains in this particular Giuseppe Zanotti shot not only shows off her flexibility, but it also provides the perfect view for those fetching stilettos. And though her

It is somewhat surprising to see Mulberry retreat from its almost “standard” two-model setting — something the brand hasn’t implemented since FW05 with Caroline Trentini. But no matter the reason for that part of the creative direction, I for one am glad to see Katrin Thormann making the cut. There is a slight school girl feel to the ad (Especially if you envision the bag as more of a satchel), but Katrin certainly fits the part of an educated,
