Born and raised in Tasmania, Australia, Wendy Iles is one of the Top Ten Hairstylists worldwide. Since she was a little girl, Wendy dreamt of becoming a hairstylist: beginning with cutting her dolls hair. Her ambition and concentration brought her to having her own salon by the age of just fifteen. Being too young to carry on a business by herself, her parents hired a manageress. Shortly after that Wendy got the opportunity to go and learn from hairdressing grandmaster Vidal Sassoon in London, where she embraced the famous Sassoon cutting techniques. 

When Wendy returned to Australia her salon became an immediate success. Clients accepted hours-long journeys just to get their hair cut by Wendy Iles and her team. First involvements with fashion began when Iles sold her salon and moved to Melbourne. There she worked for Australian Vogue and started building a reputation for herself in the fashion world. Becoming a worldwide working cosmopolite, Wendy Iles relocated to New York City before moving on to France.  

Ever since she worked with big names in photography, such as Ellen von Unwerth and Karl Lagerfeld, Ruven Afandor, Rankin, Tyen and Jean Paul Goude.

In 2008 the German publishing company Printkultur published a book – Archive – on selected images from Wendy’s 15 years of European work for magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harpers & Queen and V and the elite of advertising clients including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès and Dior .

Wendy loves the idea of becoming involved with product development. Finding the right company to do this with is her present focus.
