The American fashion model Ali Michael was born May 15, 1990 in Colleyville, Texas and lives in New York. Her career started in 2005, when she won the Fashion!Dallas/ Kim Dawson Model search contest. After she had to withdraw from Grapevine High School with one semester left, she debuted on the fall New York runway of Alice Roi and Phillip Lim.
The girl with the striking eyebrows and the flawless face has been in several fashion shows including famous designers such as Chanel, Christioan Dior, Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs, her favorite one.
Apart from that she appeared in editorials of Elle, W, Teen Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
Her seemingly fabulous life and international success had a heavy price. Michael was afflicted with anorexia and bulimia, loss of hair and her periods.
In 2008 she was sent home from Paris fashion week, casting directors told her that ‘’her legs were too plump’’. In this time Michael gained weight after struggling with her eating disorder. Meanwhile she is in medical attendance and in a recovery process.
In the same year she went back to the runways. Michael opened the spring Louise Goldin show in London and walked for Burberry, Fendi, Christian Dior and Balenciaga.
In addition to that she became the face of Sportmax, appeared in Russian and Italian Vogue photographed by Paolo Roversi and graced the cover of Spur. Furthermore Michael signed a fragrance contract with Lanvin’s Jeanne Lanvin and seems to be back on form.
