The Italian model Bianca Balti born March 19, 1984 had a difficult access to the model industry. At the beginning of her career she was rejected by several agencies like Elite Model Management, because of her ‘average and common’ look. But Bruno Pauletta saw her with other eyes and discovered Balti in a supermarket, where she was working to finance her studies in web-design. Soon after she signed with IMG and debuted at the spring catwalks for Costume National, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin and Hermès in Milan and Paris in 2004. Balti then scored her first cover of L’Officiel and shortly after that was named one of the top ten newcomers featured by Style.com. Regarding ad campaigns she appeared in numerous international advertisements such as the Victoria’s Secret catalogue, D&G, DKNY, Guerlain cosmetics, La Perla, became the face of Missoni and GUESS and signed contracts with Revlon, Paco Rabanne Black XY fragrance. Next to photographers like Steven Meisel who has shot her for Dolce & Gabbana, she has already worked together with nearly all tops of the business like Annie Leibovitz for Roberto Cavalli alongside Lily Donaldson and Hye Park.
