Being one of Sweden’s most established and celebrated international fashion photographer, John Scarisbrick relocated to his hometowm Stockholm in 2001 after six successful years in New York in the nineties. Then he was known for a high distinctive and personal style of photography, full of energy and with interesting, often radical angles, largely influenced by punk music and other subcultures. Later his style became more mature, subtle and sophisticated, oriented towards beauty as well as fashion. His editorial work appeared in several magazines such as Acne Paper, Allure, Big, Bon, Composite, Details, Dune, The Face, Gloss, Harper’s Bazaar, He, Interview, Jalouse, Jane, Mixte, New York Times Magazine, Spin, Stockholm New, The Times Style Magazine, Vogue Russia, V Magazine and W. In addition to that John shot advertising campaigns for Amnesty Interntional, Blank, Boots, Cimarron Jeans, CK Jeans, c/o Stockholm, Dessange, Diesel Jeans, Eres, Energie Jeans, Filippa K, Gola, H&M, Kenneth Cole Reaction, Mercenes Benz, Nike, Pepsi, Philips, Sas, Shiseido and United Bamboo. He is also a great portrait photographer with an impressive client list including David Bowie, Carsten Höller, Chan Marshall ‘Cat Power’, Timbaland, Vera Farmiga, The Strokes, Kiss, Björk, Salma Hayek, Adam Sandler, Ryuichi Sakamoto, John Ashbury, Casey Spooner, Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor and Zoey Dechanel.
