Kiehl's doing good
by Beeke Melcher posted on April 21, 2009The popular natural beauty product brand Kiehl’s prides itself on working with celebrities that share their ‘think green’ agenda. To honour tomorrow’s International Earth Day, Kiehl’s is releasing a specially designed edition of their best-selling ’Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion’ which is made of fair-trade organic Moroccan argan oil.
Stars including Adrian Grenier (best known for his role in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’), pro surfing celebrity Kelly Slater and Erykah Badu (whom is hailed as the ‘First Lady Of Neo-Soul’ – love her!), have all turned their hand to designing new bottles for the exclusive Earth Day product. As well as their A-list product reworkings, Kiehl’s have also selected a group of Parsons Design School students to create new looks for their goods. Both the celebrities and students works were captured by über-photographer Terry Richardson for the brand’s press shots.
As of today, you can purchase one of the bottles of which 100% of its profits go to Waterkeeper Alliance: an international environmental grassroots organization devoted to the preservation of specific watersheds.
Pretty designs, cool celebrities, excellent product AND bettering the environment whilst you’re at it – go ahead and buy, buy, buy!
