Backstage Diaries: Berlin Spring Summer 2010 Day 1
by Maud & Pénélope . posted on July 01, 2009First day running in Berlin, from taxi cabs to underground stations to Fashion Week-special shuttles. We started the day at Schumacher which took place in Bebelplatz, the heart of the city for the next few days. First day and first impressions: ours were obviously good with Toni Garrn‘s impressive walk opening the show. Fierce without losing her famous freshness, we knew we had our four feet in Berlin at this exact moment.
The other girls we‘ve noticed at Schumacher are an incredible mix of our beloved all-time favorites like Alison Nix, internationally promising girls like Vilma Putriute, Whitney Coble, Xenia (a beauty to remember from Mandarina Models in Romania, signed with IMG) or Georgia Fowler and a few of the most thrilling german newbies of the moment. Among them we clearly fell in love with Isabelle Sauer‘s look again. She was already stunning in Hamburg last april wearing her own clothes and simply rocked the runway this morning. She‘s getting ready for her trip in London, soon.
Special mention goes to Theresa Genth, another Modelwerk girl who impressed us last time. She doesn‘t only stand among the high-potential crowd for her unique face and strawberry hair, she is also the most stylish and her attitude is flawless. We should take some time for another feature on her this week, we‘ll definitely keep you posted.
While Theresa walked for Marcel Ostertag right after Schumacher, we were getting ready for the next one. Black Coffee And Ramírez was the second great moment of our day and the second opportunity to see how the girls sent here by IMG are doing at the shows. Vilma Putriute again, majestic in backstage. Dalia from Modelwerk (signed with IMG in Paris) also left us with a strong impression again. Strength and sweetness side by side. Natalie Hockey worked out that black wig with her light blond eyebrows and we already had to rush again. Our heads and camera full of pictures.
Tomorrow will be another day, another rythm and we hope some other beauties will stand on our way as well. We know there is a few more treasures in town, from Polish jewel Magdalena Fiolka we quickly met (at Marcel Ostertag) to the Iconic girls we haven‘t seen yet. These ones might be hiding for the best and it won‘t last long before we see them rocking the place as well. Plus many surprises, as usual during fashion weeks.
