Schumacher - First class ticket to refined elegance

You would never know there was a world-wide recession on judging by the Schumacher show. It was chockablock full of satin and chiffon, big bows, fur, dress-coats and maxi dresses. Refined elegance sums it up best – even the daytime looks were distinctly ‘dressy’. Lets just say it was day-looks for ladies who go to Ascot or lunch at the Ritz. For the evening there were maxi-length satin dresses with modest high necks that were fitted snug to the body, and therefore quietly sexy, and they would be perfect for a date at the opera. It was very ‘Talented Mr.Ripley’ – in a good way. Occasionally an oversized bow at the neck looked too prissy, but mostly the upper-crust look was pulled off well. Obviously this sort of thing isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but if it is, then you’ll love it.
