Viktor & Rolf's Spring 2010 Collection - Enough To Ruffle Your Collars For!
by jobot *** posted on October 05, 2009Whilst other designers at this season’s Paris Fashion Week were playing it safe with minimal overheads and just as minimal (and severely underwhelming) results, the Dutch duo, Viktor & Rolf, were showing the world their best in chainsaw hacked ballgowns – yes really. When discussing the collection, Rolf Snoeren very matter-of-factly stated, “With the credit crunch and everybody cutting back, we decided to cut tulle ball gowns.”
The biggest of the ballgowns came at the end of the show but in its entirety the runway was constantly flavored with over the top ruffles and the queen of higher than high outfits, Roisin Murphy, performing on a pedestal at the back of the show.
I love you Viktor & Rolf – one day I hope to be graced with some of your clothing…and you can definitely hack them with whatever you like beforehand.
