Garbage Pins - Making Treasure From Your Unwanted Junk
by jobot *** posted on November 10, 2009In an attempt to bring environmental awareness through the use of artistic means, the Garbage Pins Project prides itself on being one of the world’s biggest travelling exhibitions to be able to fit on one wall.
The jist of the project as launched by Portugese curator, Ana Cardim, was that 90 international artistes display in five tiny plastic bags their own personal idea of value versus waste. Starting in January 2008, she patiently waited eight months before receiving back arrays of work including urine to locked compartments to figurines and cigarette butts.
This exhibition promises to be a very profound and awe-inspiring one so make sure you check it out if you are in LA.
