Yohji Yamamato - Bankrupt?!

Owing to a $67 million dollar debt, the Japanese master designer, Yohji Yamamato, has filed for bankruptcy protection. Following his recent 2010 Spring Collection showing at Paris’ Fashion Week, Yamamoto is said to have signed a sponsorship deal with investment firm Integral Corporation who will inject cash into both his brand and that of his daughter, Limi Yamamoto, so that neither fashion house closes. As a part of the restructuring plan within the company, rumours are circulating that the former vice-president of adidas Japan, Yoshihiro Hemmi, will become chairman of the fashion house’s board.
