Day 2 : Forum The Equestrian Chic!
by Camila Schwarz posted on January 21, 2009The model Flavia de Oliveira opened the show for Forum -she is a woman with a powerful presence – a great taste of what was to come in this show! It was a fantastic spectacle with a very fancy equestrian theme!
The background of the catwalk was decorated with moving images of horses in motion, beautiful! It was reminiscent of Steven Klein with Madonna on her “Confessions” tour.
Ponchos, fringes, galligaskins, jackets and of course horses lent the flavor to this collection. The designer, Tufi Duek, made a beautiful show, with beautiful women wearing ponytails made of real horsehair, a lot of them in all-black or all-white outfits – reminding the audience again of horses. The leggings, stockings and boots highlighted the feminine silhouette, and last but not least there was of course a great deal of fine leather on show.
The equestrian chic theme also had points of brightness and elegance, such as one-shoulder gowns and jersey dresses which is after all the DNA of the label; lots of sensuality.
Patti Smith was the main voice on the shows soundtrack – a perfect choice of course as her most famous album ever was called ‘Horses’.
