Ace Hotel - Uniforms Fit For The Average New Yorker
by jobot *** posted on August 04, 2009The New York City hotel, Ace Hotel, prides itself on being entirely affordable and makes a point of being influenced by its local surroundings in both its hotel’s design (which integrates the city’s comprehensive history of art, and music) and it’s staffs uniforms. Each outfit chosen for the workers is that if a staple which has become synonymous with New York including Chuck Taylor’s in a dark green monochrome which have been created especially for the hotel chain by Converse or, for the colder days when Cons just won’t cut it, Dr. Martens embossed with a skeleton key. The jeans issued are by Levi’s and the Newark based company, L.Gambert, has even crafted custom fitted shirts which are 100% handcrafted. The girls on staff are given a utilitarian style shirt-dress (also made by L.Gambert), and the vintage Glen-check Coto tie and blackened silver Surface 2 Air finish the looks off nicely.
Now that is ace – your boss giving you a uniform you would probably want to wear at home. Clever, simple and effective!
