EJFoundation: Save the Sea
by Anna Eimerl posted on March 30, 2009There is no better time to talk about this than right now. With global warming affecting each corner of the earth drastically and dramatically, evident of which is the extreme coldness in the United Kingdom since 20 years as well as the hyper-heatwave in Australia causing uncontrollable bush fires and copious death tolls, how can we further ignore mother nature’s pitiful cry?
The Environmental Justice Foundation is one such organisation, which protects the People and the Planet by increasing awareness on issues, such as environmental abuses.
Following the success in 2008’s campaign concerning the subject of cotton production and use, The Environmental Justice Foundation brings its collaborative effort to another level with four of Britain’s hottest designers – Giles Deacon, Allegra Hicks, Zandra Rhodes and John Rocha. This time, the aim of this project is to raise global awareness on the ocean – home sweet home of a sea of exquisite magical marine life form. Specifically, the organisation strives to bring justice to the ocean, where the term ‘exploitation’ has long been buried deep down the deep blue ocean leading towards the emergence of abundant issues, such as piracy as well as extinction of certain priceless aquatic species.
The result of this collaboration is a set of four modern and stylish T-Shirts, which aims to raise funds for the mighty purpose of defending our ocean. Each T-Shirt is made of 100% fairly traded organic cotton and creatively conveys its universal message through each designer’s signature style.
The ad campaign brings not only a fresh calming sea breeze through the photographs, which are shot on an appropriate cool blue background; but also features 20 of the hottest ‘it’ models in the fashion scene now: Sheila Marquez, Sessilee Lopez, Daul Kim, Paul Pavlovska, Anett Griffel, Anabela Belikova, Anne Vyalitsyna, Aline Weber, Olga Sherer, Eniko Mihalik, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Karlie Kloss, Elise Crombez, Ali Stephens, Kori Richardson, Alyona Osmanova, Ekaterina Kiseleva, Hye Park, Magdalena Frackowiak and Bianca Balti.
Photographed by the talented, New-York-based photographer Eric Guillemain, who shows these pretty young things exhibiting their model behaviour for the meaningful cause, how could we cruelly reply with a blunt ‘no’?
The collection is available for sales in the Online Shop now or through selected Stockists. All proceeds go to Environmental Justice Foundation for environment protection as well as defence in human rights.
