Good song by Blur: Good video
by Floor Serbrock posted on February 19, 2010“Good Song“ from Blur is possibly the best music video I have ever seen. Squiggly-lined, freaky little lonely animals, David Shrigley composed the animation together with the London-based visual artist collective Shynola. It‘s already 6 years old, but like all good things, is timeless, justifiably winning the McLaren Animation Award and the British Animation Award for Best Music Video in 2004.
This 4 minute visual story guides you along the most basic continuum of emotions, starting with confusion, moving to loneliness, compassion, sudden horror, and ending with absurdity. Honestly, the first time I saw it, I chuckled, I swooned, I almost cried, I felt nauseous, I cracked up. I was moved. It all sounds phenomenally melodramatic, but as far as music videos go, this thing is gold.
What does this have to do with fashion and lifestyle, the fashion industry; LEXPOSURE? I’m not entirely sure, but I’m allowed to write about whatever I want to on here. So for those bored fashionistas out there looking for some feeling: A Good Song.
