Heidi by Vogue - June Issue 2009 of Vogue Germany
by Anna Eimerl posted on May 11, 2009‘Heidi by VOGUE’ is the coming together of Germany’s most prestigious fashion glossy and Heidi Klum to create a magazine completely devoted to the German Supermodel.
Heidi was absolutely elated to have been asked to do the issue saying “It was for me not only a pleasure but also an honour to once again sit in front of the camera for the German VOGUE. It has given me a lot of fun, a whole week with different photographers, Hair stylists and make-up for the teams to be in Vogue.” In four large photo spreads Heidi is spectacle to be seen in the outfits of a 50’s movie star and a rock vamp with all photographs being staged in a close proximity. The cover is an expressive black and white portrait taken from a distance by photographer Francesco Carrozzini. When asked which pictures she preferred at the end result Heidi said ‘I think all four looks are very good – so good that I cannot decide which I like best’.
The idea for the ‘Heidi by VOGUE’ collaboration was editor-in-chief Christiane Arp, who in turn was the head and heart behind the whole production. “I am a big fan of Heidi Klum, she is one of the most professional models that I know,” Christiane says, “Heidi was impressed by the idea and immediately loved it. The whole book was developed in close co-operation.” This special edition combines the Vogue editorial with a clear statement: “We Germans are not known for our celebrities. Finally Heidi is one of the few international A-list stars. In this edition, we want to make clear: She is a remarkable woman. In the unmistakable VOGUE writing style, we show Heidi sophisticated, provocative, sexy and intimately,”
Also, the classic book sections thematically revolve around Heidi Klum and her inspirations. The VOGUE LOOK section hosts style favourites that Heidi cannot live without. For the portrait of “I, Heidi” VOGUE visits the most successful “Ich-AG” in the world. It describes how Heidi enjoyed the shooting surrounding thanks to its refreshing nature and Klum speaks openly about her extraordinary career and her family (see citations below).
