The company of people: hours of browsing fresh talent
by Floor Serbrock posted on February 01, 2010If you‘re ever in need of some fresh talent when it comes to photography, illustration, sculpture, music and writing (in short, all things creative? Am I missing something here?), if you‘re bored, if you‘re curious, and especially if you‘re all three, you should check out The Company of People. A portfolio website as well as an independent publishing house, a whole range of artists showcase their work here via our little mouse-clicks. The list of contributors is pretty impressive, and what‘s more impressive is that almost every single one of them creates amazing stuff. Most of the photography contain the eery charm of seeming as if they‘ve been offered to us from a personal and private collection. The illustrations are often psychedelic, always abstract, and of course, always weird (with my personal trophy of weirdness finally going to Ben Schumacher. It was a close tie with Jean-Philippe Harvey)
You can browse portfolios according to their medium, or surprise yourself by random clicking in the alphabetical portfolio list tab. A truly recommendable site, you can get lost in here for hours, to return back home inspired!
