Hong Kong Design School Launches Mirror Watch
by jobot *** posted on November 28, 2009Another watch story success! This time though, it is the idea of the third year student, Cheuk Kee Lai, who is currently studying at SDWorks, a design school based in Hong Kong that works to allow its students to create products and sell them commercially. Cheuk’s initiative behind the watch’s invention was that he noticed people’s needs to wear a watch was being less favoured as more and more consumers are carrying mobile phones to rely on their time keeping abilities. So – what better to strap to your wrist than a mirror to help you to see if you have indeed got food stuck in your teeth before that important business meeting? And with a click of a simple button, the time is displayed in red LED lights on the watch’s face – now that’s what I call an ever reflecting payback (haha!)
The watches themselves will be sold at DETOUR, Hong Kong’s design festival until 9 December. Visit the DETOUR website for full details!
