Kane‘s Animal Tees Rule On The Streets + On The Web
by Rie Cau posted on July 22, 2009The time bomb is ticking.
Christopher Kane‘s capsule collection for TopShop is set to land in stores next month.
However, before that comes into place, his debut T-Shirt collection is already in luxury e-store, such as My-wardrobe.com and net-a-porter.com.
The idea for this debut Tee collection originates from the all bubbling popularity of Mr. Kane‘s mischievous monkey print dresses from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection, which rocked our wardrobes universally with its fierce animalism.
For Fall/Winter 2009/10, Mr. Kane crafted these funky dresses into comfortable and cool everyday T-Shirts.
The sensational Swedish illustrator Lovisa Burfit assisted Mr. Kane in creating these ingenious and über-realistic illustrations of Baboons, Gorillas and Mandrills on the T-Shirts.
Fashion‘s who of who – from singer Rhianna, art director Julia Restoin-Roitfeld to Germany’s own blogging sensation Paul from ‘Be My Own Stylist’ – have all been spotted wearing Mr. Kane and Ms. Burfit‘s raw creations.
Net-a-porter.com sells these much sought-after T-Shirts at €256; whereas my-wardrobe.com tags them at €252.
The difference is almost insignificant, but we know which one you prefer.
No matter which one you choose or where you get it from, make sure you get them quick, because whether in the realm of the Animal Kingdom or on the Web, Christopher Kane‘s Animal Tees rule!
