Thurston Moore Pens For GRUNGE Book
by jobot *** posted on September 23, 2009Following weeks of chit chatter and controversy over Kurt Cobain’s avatar in Guitar Hero, it comes with a great fresh breath of (grungey) air to see that one of the godfathers of the grunge movement, Thurston Moore, has scribbled the text for a photography book portraying and named after the early 90’s Seattle music scene. The photographer for the book, Michael Lavine, is a NYC resident whom has snapped album covers for the likes of Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, Pavement and Dinosaur Jr. Needless to say, with those credentials he has more than enough respect from the industry (and indeed from me!), to be making a printed version of one of my generation’s most important statements in music.
The book will be released on October 1st and I for one will be one of the first kids in the queue (ripped jeans in tact!), to buy it.
