Nineteen and full of dreams: meet Anita, the freshest from Seeds

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on April 07, 2009

Anita is brand new, almost as brand new as one can be and we usually keep this kind of girls, so early in their career, for our own page (Fashion Does It Better). Though, one thing was obvious to us: such a fresh stunner based in Berlin belongs to this page and perfectly match the German vibe at Lexposure. After Katrin Thormann last year, Seeds Management is ready to launch another unique beauty.

At 19 and 175, she’s got some key numbers to take a good start and, while her face screams high fashion, her silhouette leaves us with some good expectations for a great career on runways. Editorial work could be her main strength as her polaroids already show how expressive she is and this ability to catch one’s attention with some natural poses, effortless juggling with light-hearted moods and quite a dramatic gaze.

Ginta-2

Ginta, A Woman With A Plan

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on April 13, 2009

With a few lines here and a few lines there, Ginta Lapina was a bit everywhere in our runway reviews. Now it was big time to write a piece all about her, she’s maybe the one who really deserves it this season. She hasn’t “exploded” on one day, she took it slow. Step by step, making sure to have the right names at the right place. It started at Proenza Schouler, her only show in New York. She probably could have walked more but it turned out to be a better move for her. She looked so precious and a bit mysterious. What was going to happen next ?

Next things happened in Milan when she walked for Antonio Marras, Blugirl, Sportmax and, last but not least, Dolce & Gabbana. They are not the kind of shows to create stars out of the blue but we should never forget it’s where it all began for many great girls. Good steps and good signs. Then Paris, Paris where anything is possible. Paris where designers do it their own way. It’s a bit of an old reputation, it’s not always true but the City of Lights remains unique from time to time when it doesn’t follow worldwide trends and offers brillant unexpected castings.

So, Paris was special in Ginta’s career and it’s always better when the climax comes at the end of the season. There was YSL first and Miu Miu on the last day of shows. Only one of them would have been enough to give her a serious kick but a girl with an unusual start needed a suitable ending of this kind. We just can admire such a tailor-made career, plenty of precision from day one to the end matching the strongest look and sweetest attitude. It took us days and days to decide which pictures to use for this piece on Ginta. After turning the whole topic upside-down we found out that some polaroids taken by Jonathan Leder were able to reflect her uncanny potential and probably the best to describe our current state of mind. They are quite a beautiful question mark which leaves us dreaming of what’s coming next again.

Inessa In Essence

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on April 16, 2009

Inessa is the epitome of a Lexposed Face, if this makes sense. We don’t have specific rules or guidelines to pick our models for this section but there is certainly some girls who are just perfect for a little feature here. Perhaps these are models that have already achieved a few solid things in their short careers, models on a good slope.

Having walked for Philosphy by Alberta Ferretti in New York is a great example of these solid little things and are what we would call some serious runway debuts. Also think of her as girl who seems to be able to work on different fronts as her show list includes designers from Marchesa to Miss Sixty. Different moods and different clothes are no problem for the precious lady placed with IMG worldwide by AL Models, basically walking in Serafima Vakulenko and Diana Farkhullina’s footsteps. Probably ready to fly even higher than the two stunners.

Her editorial beginnings are following the same pattern, Inessa’s potential goes further than just a look or an outfit. Her latest piece comes from Teen Vogue April 2009 by Jason Kibbler, sharing the spotlights there with another promising young sprout: Rose Cordero. New faces often have to rely on chance as much as on their own talent and if Inessa´s first steps on the big scene are fortunate for sure, they are far from fortuitous.

The Naked Truth Is That Luisa Is... Amazing!

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on April 24, 2009

It’s most likely the perfect day to feature Luisa Bianchin on Lexposure and she’s also the perfect girl to be featured as one of our Lexposed Faces. So, is it all about perfection right now ? More about expectations to be honest and it is even more exciting like that. She’s from Berlin and we are in Berlin for our last day, we couldn’t miss this opportunity to say a sweet goodbye to our favorite big city. And as she just arrived in Milan yesterday, the news couldn’t be fresher.

Joy Models were eagerly and anxiously waiting for her to be in town for the first time and couldn’t believe their eyes when she came into the office to get her new polaroids done. Her book was already good enough to create some big thrill and to be aware of her unique potential but once they saw her in person this feeling grew up to a higher level. She didn’t simply live up to all these enormous expectations, she even managed to raise some new ones and if everything goes perfectly well, we should see more of her soon.

A Professional Chameleon: Joanna Kneppers

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on April 28, 2009

Meet Johanna if you haven’t met her before. Meet one of the most talented model of the season and, beyond this season, of her generation. A girl who almost came out of the blue and the perfect example of the hard work of two agencies right now: Just WM in Paris and Ford in New York, who just introduced us to her latest digitals.

First time we heard of Johanna was during fashion week in Paris. It wasn’t hard to notice she was there, she actually walked for Balenciaga and the surprise was twice bigger as she walked out of nowhere. Well, nowhere is not exactly the word. She comes from the new agency in town called Just WM which opened its doors at the right moment and already targeted the highest level for Johanna’s career. It was suprising, unexpected but also a bit logical when you have a quick look at the agency’s website. Great new faces, rock-solid porfolios and a true aesthetic statement are the first thing you might notice. Johanna stands out as the epitome of their image. Not bad for a start, for both the model and her agency.

Next step for her was to sign in New York and she called Ford her home. Again, we could talk about some esthetic statement and she embodies the Ford girl of today, along with other stunners like MJ. With her heart in France and her roots in The Netherlands, she’s getting a little more international again. She describes herself as optimistic and her agencies say she’s smart, she’s got a runway-friendly silhouette and an inspirational face, she’s got the total package and even more. For having met her quickly in Paris during the shows, we could also add she’s as sweet as charismatic which might help her a lot as well. In one word: professional.
