Jac, the Mozart of the Modeling World

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on March 02, 2009

The comparison might sound odd, we can’t think of Jac with some other words. She’s prodigious and started young. No wild child, though. She’s precocious but also cautious. Very poised for such a little lady. After showing her skills in various editorials, she proved since her first steps in New York she has also an amazing sense of the runway. Emotional expression yet never too much, charming walk and even genius when she falls, it seems she was born to model.

If we strongly believe the best is still to come, as everything so far went better and better with time, her achievements in just two weeks on the catwalk is already enough to drop a few lines. She’s one of these girls who looks unstoppable and don’t rely on exclusives to make thei

Solving this season's puzzle: Polina Barbasova, Givenchy Girl

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on March 30, 2009

The other side of the same medal. Strengths and weaknesses are so close and get closer when you try your best to keep them separated. It’s a hard job to pick ten names as the best newcomers, even when it seems so easy. It’s a tough moment to kick someone off the team for one reason or another and we can’t always be sure we’ve made the right decision. And, of course, it doesn’t go without some heartbreaking moments.

We won’t try to extend our Top-10 with some extra girls labelled as bonus track. The ten were picked by the whole team and that’s probably better when it doesn’t get too personal. Though, we truly think we have to be fair to all the girls that deserve it and have a closer look at more newcomers. If we can’t feature them all one

Lexposure's Top Ten Newcomer Models of Fall/Winter 2009

by Lexposure Rankings posted on March 25, 2009

The Fall/Winter 2009 catwalks were not dominated by as many newer faces as previous seasons, but nevertheless a few notable girls stood out from the rest of the crowd. Whereas many faltered or faded as the shows moved onward towards Paris, these were the names that remained prominent on our minds, and we are delighted to present them to you as the potential stars of the upcoming seasons.

Paris Part one: models review from Kris Van Assche, Peachoo + Krejberg and Estrella Archs

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on March 04, 2009

First day in Paris, three shows, three different castings. And a lot of beautiful brunettes with brows. No major overwhelming trend, though. More some personal choices by picky designers. First one on our list was Kris Van Assche who booked some of the most thrilling models currently in town, including Gracie Carvalho and Bojana Reljic who were among our recent Lexposed Faces. And did well in New York this season. Next to Gracie was another stunning Brazilian (or brazilian stunner ?) Lovani Pinnow, just arrived after a sensational season in Milan. Other cuties in this team were Lucyna Amszej (another Lexposed Face), Nika Lauraitis and IMG’s very own Belle who’s definitely one to remember. Unique look meets outstanding attitude meets sweetes

Paris Part two: models review from Lie Sang Bong, Hiroko Koshino and AF Vandevorst

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on March 05, 2009

High, low. High and low. Second day in Paris provided us with a wide range of emotions, from our ecstatic mood of the morning to a real will to reach our bed again right now. A good day during fashion weeks is one of these days you learn, you love and learn to love. This is how it went on this rather sunny thursday of early March. Lie Sang Bong was the first show of the day and was held in that lovely hotel, one of the few places of the fashion world where toilets aren’t considered either as luxury or secondary. The collection was great, tiger prints, metallic fabrics and metallic tiger prints. Wide shoulders then extra-wide shoulders and you’ve got the main idea of the silhouettes. No better choice than Emma Karlsson to open it with her sh

Paris Part three: models review from Atsuro Tayama, Issey Miyake, Marithé+François Girbaud, Ann Demeulemeester and Givenchy

by Maud & Pénélope . posted on March 09, 2009

Here comes our third part. Weekend review, from Friday morning till Sunday night. From Atsuro Tayama to Givenchy. Let’s start where we started, Palais de Tokyo. We went a bit late, just in time for the show. Natural light and white stairs were the first visual highlights of this day. Eniko was the second when she opened. So nice to see her again and again, after all these seasons in Paris. We remember her so well on her early days and couldn’t tell you enough how much she hasn’t changed, hasn’t lost anything of this raw energy and good vibrations that caught our attention at Guy Laroche two years ago. Other girls at Atsuro Tayama include Myf Shepherd, Constance Jablonski, Anna Gushina, Denisa Dvorakova, Kamila Filipcikova, Laura Blokhina, G
