LOOKBOOK.NU Trendwatch: Mellow Yellow

by Katharina Withelm posted on July 13, 2009

As we mentioned this morning, the sun is back on the streets of Berlin.
Nothing special you might think, but well, we have been punished with so much rain over the last few weeks and the fact that the sun is shining and we haven’t seen any rain as of yet today, is enough reason for us to dedicate this LOOKBOOK.nu trendwatch to the one thing that lies at the heart of the summer – the bright light of the sun!

So, this time we kept our eyes out for the colour yellow.

We all learned back in our school days, light with a wavelength of 570-580 nanometre is yellow, as in its lighter hues consists of a subtile mixture of somewhat longer and shorter wavelengths.

Dark Performance by John Scarisbrick

by Katharina Withelm posted on July 13, 2009

After an excessively BRIGHT weekend in Frankfurt and because of the fact that the sun finally honours the streets of Berlin with its presence, I can deal with John Scarisbrick‘s murky Dark Performance artwork which is without a doubt enchantingly beautiful.

Scarbrick‘s style is highly distinctive and personal with radical angles and is highly influenced by punk music and other subcultural phenomena which took place during the time he spent in New York. Now that he is back in Stockholm, his style has become more mature and sophisticated.

In it, our favourite cutie, Ash Stymest stars alongside Daiane Conterato, Jathro and Nicola Haffmans. The editorial for Swedish Rodeo magazine

Our Favorites At Dripbook

by Katharina Withelm posted on July 09, 2009

It‘s time again for our favourites at dripbook.

As we have been flooded by fashion news in the last weeks, the Lexposure editorial heads decided to take a little break and come up with something different.

I was glad to find some really good work for food styling in dripbook this morning. As I was raised with a surrounding of excellent food culture, I am well versed in first-rate dinners, loads of gourmet cook books and of course culinary art and skills. Saying that, I am not the kind who would normally bang on about culinary art by its page full, but stranger things have happened!

So, let‘s narrow it down to food styling and food photography and the work of Johanna Lowe:

LOOKBOOK.nu Trendwatch: Chanel Is The Main Thing

by Katharina Withelm posted on July 08, 2009

Coco said, “Imitation is the highest form of flattery”.

Needless to say, I admire her for being a pioneering fashion designer, whose modernist philosophy, menswear-inspired designs and pursuit of expensive simplicity has made her one of the most important fashion designers in the 20th century.

However, you aren’t likely to see me wearing what is probably the most famous design Chanel is known for, the tweed suit, which might I add, is remade every season down to the present day by no less amirable genius Karl Lagerfeld. (You must know, how much we love him, by now!) nor the Chanel jacket, or using "C

Caroline Trentini Graces Vogue Brazil – Shot By Terry Richardson

by Katharina Withelm posted on June 30, 2009

For Vogue Brazil July 2009 Issue our beloved weirdo, Terry Richardson, has once again showed off his skills.

For the editorial ‘Noite em branco e preto‘ (Blank and Black Night) he put adorable Caroline Trentini, who is gracing the cover of Vogue Brazil in this stunning beautiful black Tufi Duek dress in front of the camera for us all to eyeball.

If I were able to gather the cash – this would definitely be my dream outfit for Berlin Fashion Week
