Cute as a button, beautifully doll-like and a versatile talent – those are just some ways to sum up how Nimue Smit is developing her career towards all the right directions. Careful management and supportive guidance by her mother agency in Holland – Code Management – landed her on board the Women Management express and from one important job to the next. When Nimue first popped up in the international modeling scene during the S/S 09 season, it was as a presence at Marni, as girl number three at Prada, and as opening girl for Miu Miu. It took less than a year for Indian beauty Lakshmi Menon to develop into a girl most wanted. It was nothing but up for Lakshmi ever since her first steps on the S/S 08 Jean-Paul Gaultier runway. With her stunning features, amazing skin and that million dollar gaze, Gaultier was the first to spotlight her in the S/S 08 campaign for Hermès. There, she posed aside Asian elephants in an elegant and colorful fashion. But it wasn’t untill Riccardo Tisci, torchbearer at Givenchy, actually announced Lakshmi’s appearance in his F/W 08.09 couture show for the house that the ball really started rolling.
