Ruling Rubik
by Beeke Melcher posted on May 26, 2009Finally Anja Rubik made it on the cover of Vogue Paris June/ July issue – and she’s simply stunning! Shot by Inez & Vinoodh, the basic, retro inspired photo definitely has some appeal to it! The simple white background brings out the banging colors perfectly – and the best of all is the missing G from the Vogue logo!! The photos’ vibe is sooo convincing that it makes you believe that Anja is moments from jumping into her cabriolet and driving off to the Hamptons after the shoot.
The stylist for the shoot, Madame Carine Roitfeld, is inspired by daily life throughout her work, and has mixed cliché Provence girl styling with some Parisienne fashionista using a Vichy check blouse and a small Dior scarf. Anja’s facial expression is fantastic and the whole styling is very nice. The cover itself really does look great – even if on first glance Anja’s styling looks a little stuffy. Either way, its her third Vogue cover after all these years in the business and this cover is an instant success for the Polish supermodel.
