Vogue Paris August 2009: Daria, The Weatherwoman
by Rie Cau posted on July 16, 2009It is not a myth and it can never be overly hyped: global warming has affected all little corners of the world and this includes fancy offices of fashionable organisations, such as Burberry Prorsum and Vogue Paris.
Would that possibly be the inspiration of this August 2009 cover from Vogue Paris?
Carine Roitfeld, the glamourous Editor-in-chief of the stylish fashion magazine, has chosen the Canadian model Daria Werbowy as the charming cover girl to display iconic French chic on the cover of this laid back issue.
Photographed by the incredible Inez and Vinoodh, Ms. Werbowy is dressed fittingly in Burberry‘s signature checked-patterned gear to combat the nasty unpredictable weather.
With her crystal blue eyes piercing the heart of the weather (and our minds) like sharp razors, the ultimate winner of this tug-of-war is clearly this incredible and invulnerable Weatherwoman.
The magazine this month comes with a supplementary DVD entitled ”Vogue Backstage: In the steps of a famous makeup artist, Peter Philips in 80 days".
So fans of the magnificent makeup magician better run fast, because just like the weather, you can never predict how fast this will run out.
Vogue Paris August 2009 is already on the news stand.
