Vogue Russia August 2009: Hemingway‘s Dazzling Way
by Rie Cau posted on July 15, 2009Trust the Russians to bring us insane hot shots of glitz and glamour genuine Russian Vodka-style.
Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Russia, Aliona Doletskaya, has certainly turned the world‘s attention directly onto her charming fashion magazine with this dazzling August 2009 cover featuring American model Dree Hemingway.
If the familiar face and the notorious last name ring a bell, is it not because of the hypnotising Stolichnaya-infused, plainly and simply luxurious cover; but because the Elite model is in fact the daughter of sassy American model-turned-actor Mariel Hemingway and the great-granddaughter of the Great American writer Ernest Hemingway.
Photographer Alasdair McLellan captured the fierce and in-your-face glam style for this cover.
With decadence as the main theme, excess jewellery is no doubt in sight. Super stylist Katie Grand selected sensational stacks and stacks of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings in this barbarous battle of bedazzlement.
Simultaneously, Ms. Hemingway‘s golden blonde hair and her perfectly painted red lips shine lustrously to make the perfect picture of lavish extravagance.
However, this lady is far from being sweet.
Through her piercing and distinguishably icy blue eyes, we detect an overwhelming force that is savage and merciless.
Is she possibly the descendent of the ferocious tartar warriors?
The former Soviet Union have long been history, but let’s rewind and re-live in a rich and refined Imperial Russia!
Here is a remarkably ravishing Russia that is 100% Vogue.
