Vogue US May 2009 : Meisel's Muses
by Lexposure Rankings posted on April 13, 2009It has been less than an hour since the much-anticipated model cover of Vogue US’ May 2009 issue emerged in its full glory, and the web has already fluttered with excitement, verdicts, and expectations for the contents within. Just as rumored via interviews with Caroline Trentini weeks ago, the cast is an impeccable lot of Steven Meisel’s muses (Many of whom currently grace the top of our Female Model Rankings). Gracing the front cover are veterans Liya Kebede and Natalia Vodianova alongside — a most wonderful surprise — comeback sensation Anna Maria Jagodzinska (#2); Isabeli Fontana (#11) and Jourdan Dunn flank Lara Stone (#4), who makes her Vogue US debut, in the centerfold; lastly, Raquel Zimmermann (#8), Caroline Trentini, and Natasha Poly (#3) provide strong final impressions for the Vogue readers as they move from left-to-right.
Needless to say, these beautiful close-ups will enable most of the model cast to gain plentiful ground in the May rankings. As the current Vogue US seldom features models on its cover, the amount of points given for making this cover is considerably more than any other edition of Vogue. When all is totaled, we would not be surprised if Toni Garrn will be dethroned after three months atop our list. Only time will tell — and meanwhile, we hope all the model aficionados out there enjoy this very special Vogue US issue as much as we will!
