Geniune and Genius: Katrin Moves and Morphs
by Maud & Pénélope . posted on May 07, 2009She builds her career like a masterpiece, a smart mixture of some of the most precious and peculiar editorials of her time. She has been featured in Vogue Italia twice in a row and each time got the cover. She also took part in the S/S 09 Prada campaign, shot by Steven Meisel again. These three jobs could be enough to describe the high level but the more precise, the better. With the prettiest cheekbones of her generation and her translucent eyebrows, Katrin Thormann has been able to impose her fragile look from the day she appeared on the cover of Dazed & Confused, almost one year ago. The surprise of last summer turned into the stunner of the season and so on.
Easy come, easy stay. People often talk about the crazy speed of new faces getting into fashion every season but they should remember that making a first impression also means making her marks. That’s the way it goes today, girls start fast then go steadfast. You need a kick to start, you need quality editorials to stay. It doesn’t make noise everytime a model hits a magazine and it might be betther this way. Katrin is keeping the level sky-high and the pace doesn’t seem to slow down. Latest pieces who reached her portfolio are from Interview by Anthony Maule, Numéro by Horst Diekgerdes and now, no less than V magazine by Mario Testino. Going from natural looks with light make-up to heavily sophisticated transformations, Katrin is definitely multi-tasked. Geniune and genius.
