An Intelligent Legend: Kamila Filipcikova In Vogue Paris
by Maud & Pénélope . posted on May 25, 2009We were looking for the perfect opportunity to write a few lines on Kamila Filipcikova after she opened Marc Jacobs this season and here we finally have the most amazing one ever. A brand new spread in Vogue Paris, June/July 2009 issue. The story was shot by David Sims and she shares the spotlights with another of our darlings from IMG (and this season’s stunner): Jac. Quite a lovely way to be back on glossy pages and, as we said, the most amazing opportunity to feature her.
Surprising as the opening girl of Marc Jacobs show in New York, then gathering a selective and flawless list of runways all over Fall/Winter 2009-10 and you can say the story goes on again. From forever faithful designers like Antonio Marras to the brightest spots in Paris including Valentino, Givenchy or Alexander McQueen, she’s writing her own legend. The legend of a girl who did twice the cover of Vogue Italia with Steven Meisel yet saw her career slowing down after this. The legend of a shy young woman described by her agents as a model who doesn’t say much but makes you want to know more. The legend of her fragile and delicate silhouette, etc. Every single feature, every single picture has its touch of mystery with Kamila. It was big time to highlight it again.
