Russel Brand as Charlie Chaplin for Vanity Fair
by Liz McGrath posted on March 03, 2009Vanity Fair have recruited Annie Leibovitz (who else?) to do a round up of the new generation of Comedians titled ’Comedy’s New Legends’ for their April issue. The editorial is titled: ‘Laughing Matter: Comedy’s New Legends’. Seth Rogen, Anna Faris, Leslie Mann, ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Bill Hader, Jason Bateman, Jonah Hill and Jason Siegel also feature.
We LOVE Russell Brand as the silent screen legend Chaplin – he almost looks as good as when Robert Downey Jr played him in the film. If only they could also teach Russell when to keep quiet! With this interview Russell has managed to spark yet ANOTHER scandal, as he has revealed his second book will be an autobiography and is titled ‘Mein Kampfy Wampf" – which is of course a piss-take of Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’ – enraging many who think the Nazi era should be taken seriosuly and not made light of. I have to say i think its typical ridiculous and on-the-edge humour of Russell and people should just laugh it off. They can always switch him to ‘Chaplin’ mode on the remote (ie: mute)!
