Surfing On A Rainbow: Ranya Mordanova In Vogue Paris
by Maud & Pénélope . posted on July 17, 2009The casting of the main editorial in newest Vogue Paris is simply larger than life, as huge as expensive. Among this extended team of models, two favorites of ours are taking off on the magazine’s page: Regina Feoktistova, our long-time darling who finally gets some well-deserved attention from the right people and Ranya Mordanova, the most talked-about Russian doll of her time. Tonight we’ll start having a look at Ranya’s performance for the August issue, and see how the precious sweetheart from Avant Models (via Supreme and Women worldwide) drives glossy pages crazy.
Shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, showcasing what Vogue Paris called the DNA of fashion and going through pages and pages, this story would already be a good reason to buy the magazine (just in case you’re not a fan of Daria Werbowy, this month’s covergirl). Ranya’s editorial debuts for the most sought-after and coveted French publication are definitely worthwile. And she gives the best of herself, hidden behind her iconic hairdo and her rainbow make-up but playing no other role than her own character. Which could be described in two words: Givenchy, exclusive. First in March for the latest Ready-To-Wear collections and last week during Couture shows plus the current campaign. Now when you say Ranya, you’ll think Givenchy AND Vogue Paris.
