The Queen Of Her Castle: Egle Tvirbutaite In Flair
by Maud & Pénélope . posted on June 25, 2009She caught our eyes three years ago as the girl who’s swinging her arm while walking on the runways. That was awkward yet truly charming. How couldn’t we notice such a pretty face, charismatic gaze and funny way to walk ? Impossible, indeed, not to fall for the young Lithuanian who started with a serious bunch of shows on her list. From New York to Paris. And so on.
Egle’s career went high and low, never low enough to disappear but never too high to catch a star. She took the regular way, gathering a good number of classy editorials, decent campaigns and kept her presence on the catwalks. Never enough for us but enough to leave her marks as one of the best models of her generation. Fashion doesn’t make any superstar anymore and that’s a thing to keep in mind while analysing a career. Fashion just gives you opportunities in fashion. And Egle took them all. Most of them, at least.
Her runway season can testify, she’s not ready to fade away: from coast to coast she walked for no less than Marc Jacobs, Max Azria, Giles, Roberto Cavalli, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton. Among three dozens of others, all of a remarkable level. Egle keeps shining and we keep smiling. Next steps in her career were editorials again, with some brilliant pieces in Vogue Australia April 2009 by Troyt Coburn or Vogue China July 2009 by Nicolas Moore.
The cherry on the top might come from the newest issue of Flair, shot by Wing Shya and styled by Vittoria Cerciello. Egle explores some Middle-Age glamour with kitschy crowns and fancy outfits, bringing some charisma to this Couture-driven editorial. Seems she’s still the queen of her castle, at the top of her game.
