Lexposure's Model Rankings for September 2009: A Fresh Start

by Lexposure Rankings posted on September 03, 2009

Before the SS10 ready-to-wear season begins, we take a look at how summer has treated the top girls in the industry. For most who made it into our September top 25, the past few months were quite prolific. High-profile covers, issue dedications, and various 30-plus page editorials later, the point totals were calculated, and Raquel Zimmermann emerged as the winner, using her campaign bookings to sneak past Sasha Pivovarova’s editorial prowess. Of course, the likes of Lara Stone, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik, and the rest of the top 10 all made significant impacts, and as the new in-demand girls, we expect to see plenty of them all around in the upcoming period. But we should not forget the newco

Lexposure's Model Rankings for June 2009: Summer Shifts

by Lexposure Rankings posted on June 03, 2009

Although nearly no changes took place on the men’s side for this month, the female rankings saw the ascension of Sasha, whose comeback (Then again, was she ever “away?”) was the pleasant surprise of the past few weeks. No doubt, the Russian queen is more than prepared to reign once again. The appearance of Sigrid Agren on the rankings, however, signal the pending power that she will possess in a couple more months. It’s unlikely that she will threaten Sasha’s quest for now, but if the young Martinique native continues to do as well as rumored, she will be making huge waves before anyone can prepare their surfboards.

Cream of the Crop: Toni

by Lexposure Rankings posted on May 15, 2009

After a period under the Calvin Klein label alone, this young German is about to cap off a stellar season that saw her captivating the eyes of casting directors, designers, and photographers alike and swiftly rising to the top of her field. The management of agencies like Women and Joy, alongside rooted support from mother agency Modelwerk, have developed Toni into a most sought-after figure. For a period, it was impossible to not see her upon as well as within the greatest fashion Bibles, and while the recent weeks have been quieter, she definitely deserves a break after seemingly going nonstop for so long.

For the FW09 season, one can expect Toni in a few major campaigns, including at least one repeat from SS09. More international prin

Position 28: Jourdan

by Lexposure Rankings posted on May 11, 2009

When we first saw these emotive polaroids of Storm / Women / Nathalie powerhouse Jourdan Dunn, our minds immediately snapped back to last year, when she took part in two of the most significant moments in the industry: as a cover model of Vogue Italia’s “Black Issue” and as the first black model to grace the Prada runway in many years. Since then, Jourdan has become a Vogue US staple (Most recently on its May cover) and a catwalk queen. Her newest work will apparently arrive within W’s June issue, where she will appear in a 30+ page Craig McDean editorial with a large group of young starlets, including Dorothea Barth Jorgensen, Imogen Morris-Clarke, Karlie Kloss, Madisyn Ritla

Lexposure's Model Rankings for May 2009: Vogue US Fever

by Lexposure Rankings posted on May 01, 2009

From the shifts the female rankings experienced between April and May, it becomes even clearer how significant a Vogue US cover is to a model these days. Because of the rarity of a model cover appearance, the points involved are the most out of any magazine that factor into the standings, and several of our top girls manage even more important rises, most notably Anna Maria Jagodzinska, the new #1. Also worthy of note is Karlie Kloss’ increased appearance throughout important publications lately, even sitting in on Vogue US’ model panel discussion as the prolific newcomer. Where she will stand in another three months is anyone’s guess at this point, but she’s certainly not slowing down.

Position 26: Sigrid

by Lexposure Rankings posted on April 16, 2009

Lingering at #26 on our April rankings is Martinique native Sigrid Agren, who overtook the SS09 runways by storm and continued her dominance by opening 12 and closing 7 shows for the FW09 cycle. Not surprisingly, she received starring roles in the current Prada and Nicole Farhi campaigns, but there was still a significant absence in the major Vogue pages for this beauty, and thus she never broke the top 25 in the first quarter of this year.

Now, however, it seems that things are turning around for Sigrid in major ways. She has shown great improvement both on the catwalk and behind the camera, with a softer but still striking gaze that continues to floor clients and casting directors alike. And with at least three major F
