La Mariée était en Rouge
by Maud Lemoine posted on January 27, 2009La mariée était en rouge. The bride was in red. All in red. Bright red. First show we attended was Stephane Rolland. Checking backstage, checking on the runway. Alyona Osmanova opened and closed – with that gorgeous red dress that will probably stay in our minds as one of the best Couture moments of January 2009. So, what about the casting ? Some great surprises, some innovative mood with a touch of classicism. Overally, a good mix of well-known faces, almost newbies and couture specialists à la Natalia Belova or Anna Chyzh. Highlights were called Bojana Reljic, Andressa Borba, Aida and Ieva Aniulyte. Some fresh faces with safe potential – no risky looks in Haute Couture. No daring 5’8"5 cutie walking down the runway but classic beauties with some real twists. They can be lithuanian twins or brasilian brunettes it works the same. Interesting features, slender and towering silhouettes. One will catch your attention with her cheekbones, next one with a mole. Beauty is more than ever in the details. Refinement. Couldn’t be better to start. High class casting that knows how not to be boring. Plus the red bride closing the show, perfect to leave an unforgettable image of the whole collection.
