LOOKBOOK.nu Trendwatch: Bag It!

by A-M Miinea posted on July 24, 2009

If we look closely at the latest pictures from the cool kids at LOOKBOOK.nu, it is clear that we should dedicate this week’s Trendwatch to… BAGS!

The cliché that women are obsessed about showing off their shoes and bags is a topic that is once again on everyone’s lips today.

So I have to admit that there is a germ of truth in this age-old mythical statement.

But who cares?

These ”tiny weeny shoulder bags”, lovingly named by Rie Cau, surely got their own old-school charm, as they are simply perfect for going out and most importantly, to stylish parties.

All our everyday essentials, like mobile phone, make-up, lipstick, purse and keys fit immaculately in this sweet small bag.

Whether the style is elegant

LOOKBOOK.NU Trendwatch: Mellow Yellow

by Katharina Withelm posted on July 13, 2009

As we mentioned this morning, the sun is back on the streets of Berlin.
Nothing special you might think, but well, we have been punished with so much rain over the last few weeks and the fact that the sun is shining and we haven’t seen any rain as of yet today, is enough reason for us to dedicate this LOOKBOOK.nu trendwatch to the one thing that lies at the heart of the summer – the bright light of the sun!

by Katharina Withelm posted on July 08, 2009

Coco said, “Imitation is the highest form of flattery”.

Needless to say, I admire her for being a pioneering fashion designer, whose modernist philosophy, menswear-inspired designs and pursuit of expensive simplicity has made her one of the most important fashion designers in the 20th century.

However, you aren’t likely to see me wearing what is probably the most famous design Chanel is known for, the tweed suit, which might I add, is remade every season down to the present day by no less amirable genius Karl Lagerfeld. (You must know, how much we love him, by now!) nor the Chanel jacket, or using "C

LOOKBOOK.nu Trendwatch: Heads & Hairbands

We believe that a headband really can make a princess out of every girl whether it be a rocker princess of a traditional fairy tale one, we heart them lots as we all like to get a little girly from time to time.

Whether sporting bows, pearls, leopard print, chains, striped or a plain black number, any headband you wear will definitely give you the attention that you want.

CW series Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf whom was once the reigning queen of upper east side, ranges highest in the league of headband wearers. It seems for every outfit she has one that suits it perfectly – even Blair is bewitched by her colle

by Rie Cau posted on June 18, 2009

On the runway, we first saw these awesome accessories at Givenchy‘s gothic fantastic fall/winter 2008/09 presentation and it became an instant hit in magazines, shops and co.

Although the fall/winter season has long left us, these glistening chains are staying with us – not in the same heavy overloaded scale as we have seen at Givenchy, but in a more modest, but nonetheless still very edgy way.

Check out these lookbook.nu kids rocking their blingbling in or out and about.

These heavy chains, whether in gold or silver, are simply the perfect choice to sizzle our stylish outfits amidst the current economic situation.
