Description
In remembrance of oswald von bardonitz who already at the tender age of 16 was devoted to his own self-fulfilment. theoretically, he was politically active, immured himself in books as well as drapery and formulated slogans on flags. more than anyone he was prepared for the revolts of '48 - he drank, ate like a horse and dreamt - until he eventually slumbered the whole events away. oswald wanted to go out and fight for the others' own spiritual rebirth as well as for his own. he was torn apart/was promenading between reverie and ardour - and in the end got lost in his own world. oswald 1848 is a collection of diffusely overdimensioned shapes, clear lines and interwoven patterns. apart from black and white, the primary 'colours', blue, yellow and brown set poignant contrasts. the soft wool and cotton fabrics are tucked, pin-tucked or accentuated by oversized puff sleeves. robust materials and a clear cutting technique alternate with softly flowing drapery.
