Early one misty morning, out of nowhere, an English gentleman rang the door bell of our serene office - located high up on the 4th level of a captivating old building at the very heart of the Bohemian Suburb of Kreuzberg, which some believe, pulsates Berlin on a day to day basis.
Knock. Knock.
Who could that possibly be?
It was Jamie - one of the fantastic four from LEXPOSURE.NET‘s favourite band Myriad Creatures (myspace, twitter, facebook) - here to sizzle up our minimalist office with irresistible british charm, prim ‘n’ proper English style and heavenly music.
Who are the Myriad Creatures?
Although the word ”myriad” may suggest innumerable, Myriad Creatures is made only out of four incredible band members - Jamie Kroft, Matt Fargher, Duncan B. Way and Andy Tyler.
Each member of this sensational cluster is outstanding in their own ways and will surely tempt you to become one of Myriad Creatures‘ myriad fans.
Andy and Jamie are both the vocal and guitar genius of the band, whereas Duncan marvels on the Bass, while Matt rules on the drums.
All four Londoners are respectable British citizens, who come to Berlin to break into the music scene. This move is certainly daring and above all, pioneering, as it breaks the traditional boundaries, where Musicians from all over the world swamp around the crowded and breatheless creative scene in London.
So, Jamie, what do you guys like about Berlin?
Berlin‘s vibrant mix of extremes - young and old, rich and poor, east and west - has most likely attracted these super fours, when they first arrived in a van across the English Channel in January 2007.
January 2007 also marks the momentous time when the band officially formed.
”It was very cold”, the band commented upon their first impression of Berlin.
Despite that, it was perhaps this frosty chill, which fuelled the fabulous four to induce their passion for creation.
The result is an endless list of tracks, which exhibits its outstandingly raw, essential and harmony-heavy rock’n’roll energy.
The reception of the band amongst Berlin‘s youth rocketed the group to its stellar status, as they opened Berlin Fashion Week and put the spark in Escada’s and Vogue’s party at Berlin Fashion Week with their notably incredible live performances.
What and who are your influences?
The band lists themselves as ”Intrepid Explorers of the Victorian Age and Aerosmith in terms of influences.
This is evident in the sounds of their crisp alternative rock music, which sets the perfect mood for chilling out on the couch, in a café or on a long road trip whether in a cool convertible or just a van.
As a result, the sounds of their music reminds us of The Kooks, The Beetles and Mando Diao; but nonetheless displays signs of its individualism amongst the crowd for its unique sounds.
Tell us something eccentric.
Cleaning, washing, general domestic hygiene and collecting domestic cleaning products are counted as hobbies of the collective group.
Any future plans for you guys?
The plans for the guys are an endless list of events.
