Marie Claire Italia August 2009: Sophie‘s Choice
by Rie Cau posted on July 21, 2009Just as we are getting the vibe that denim jeans are so over, because let‘s face it: those Balmainesque sparkly outfits are overtaking the whole world by a storm; Hungarian model Sophie Srej puts the zing back into jeans with this editorial called ”New Jeans” from Marie Claire Italia‘s August 2009 issue.
Photographed by David Bellemere and styled by Elisabetta Massari, the cat eyed and zesty fanta orange lipped model strikes those striking poses with her twiggy lean limps in a range of delectable denim pieces from Gas, Diesel, 7 for all mankind, Patrizia Pepe and even our favorite Swedish chainstore H&M.
What was most notable about this absolutely smoking hot editorial is the way it blends high fashion with its streetwise counterpart in the streetwear sector.
We spied a sensational selection of lavish cashmere sweaters, shorts and charming cardigans from Alberta Ferretti, Blumarine, Burberry, Chloé, Dries van Noten, Missoni and Prada.
However, the standout pieces were definitely Gas‘ sexy zip up denim jumpsuit and Missoni‘s mohair and woolen cardigan.
The editorial uses Andy Warhol’s sensational technique of repetitions as well as incorporating 60s love for the fantastic colour of orange.
We particularly like the prismatically layed out image of Ms. Srej‘s face, which overlaps one on top of another in that psychedelically hypnotising way to feed our mad obsession for the leggy sexy lady.
This hot Hungarian with her unpronouncable lastname is also featured in DKNY Jeans‘ fall/winter 2009/10 ad campaign along with fellow models Hyoni Kang and Julian Feitsma.
The campaign is photographed by none other than the sensational streetstyle photographer Scott Schuman of The Satorialist.
The cover of Marie Claire Italia August 2009 features Slovakian model Zuzana Gregorova photographed by Max Cardelli and is one of our lovely LEXPOSED Cover Watch this week.
