London: Plan your week Le Cool way
by Floor Serbrock posted on April 01, 2010Imagine you’ve been hibernating, sheltering yourself off from the misery of the London winter. Today is the 1st of April; a cold but clear-blue-skied, perfect Spring day. You are ready to venture into the world again.
But months of spending quality time with your duvet, chocolate, and laptop have meant your social skills and instincts have dispersed, and you stand at the edge of the world, ready and eager, at a loss. What to do? Where to go? What’s been happening? What has changed?
Fret no longer, for at times like these, we have Le Cool. The ‘free, weekly cultural agenda and alternative city guide’ with every day of your week planned. (Incidentally Le Cool works for obsessive-compulsive’s and the clinically indecisive).
Tonight you will go to Bangers and Mash are Going Bowling, a night where booze, disco-indie and bowling merge. Of course there will be karaoke booths. Your Friday following will consist of rummaging through the American Apparel Rummage Sale on Bricklane, slightly spaced out by the paracetamols working to suppress your screeching headache, and also feeling slightly down, due to the cringe-soaked karaoke flashbacks that barge into your head every so often. The weekend has just begun. Stick to Le Cool and you’ll journey from exhibitions, to Mexican food, to gigs and cinema. And don’t worry, there’s no more karaoke booths in the planning.
