The Polish model Anja Rubik, face of Chloé, Emporio Armani, Tod’s and Chanel Eyewear was born June 11, 1985 in Czestochowa. Her phenomenal career in the fashion industry started in a local modeling contest, where she was scouted by a Parisian agency in 2000.
But Rubik wanted to finish school and at first only modeled during her school holidays.
In 2002 she moved to New York to pursue modeling full-time and soon after she appeared on numerous covers of magazines such as Italian D, W Jewelry, Nylon, Elle and more than three times on Numéro. She did runway for nearly all the important designers including Burberry, Jil Sander, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, John Galliano and Chanel, furthermore she enriched the couture shows of Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino and appeared in editorials for Harper’s Bazaar, British, French and Chinese Vogue and W where she worked together with photographers including Steven Meisel, Inez van Lamsweerde and Mario Testino.
In 2007 she cut her hair short, and that restarted her career. Rubik became the face of Cesare Paciotti, Chloé fragrance with Clémence Poésy and Chloë Sevigny, was photographed for Belstaff and DSquared2 by Steven Meisel and replaced Caroline Trentini as the face of Oscar de la Renta with Polish model Magdalena Frackowiak. In 2008 the French Vogue named Rubik as one of their top models.
